Young Afghanistan batter, Rahmanullah Gurbaz's splendid innings helped Delhi Bulls to a comfortable win over Northern Warriors. In the ongoing T10 league in Abu Dhabi, Gurbaz scored quickfire 70 runs in just 32 balls and helped his team chase a mammoth total of 128 runs with a ball to spare. Gurbaz along with his opening partner Luke Wright put on a strong opening stand of 116 runs in 7.5 overs in the run chase. Though he couldn’t finish the game but his innings was the key to the Bulls' win.
54 runs through boundaries
In his quickfire innings of 70 runs, the 19-year-old thrashed Warrior bowlers all around the park. His struck five sixes and six fours, scoring 54 runs out of the 70 he scored. Even the first ball of Bulls' innings was put into stands by Gurbaz for a huge six. The 19-year-old played with a strike rate of 218.75 which in the match making a tough run chase look easy.
Thrilling win for Bulls
After winning the toss, Delhi Bulls invited Northern Warriors to bat first. Warriors captain Rovan Powell smashed quickfire 56 runs in just 22 balls. In his knock, he hit four fours and five sixes. With this knock and contributions from other batters in death overs, Warriors put on a total of 128 runs for the loss of just six wickets.
To chase down this target, Bulls started very well with Wright and Gurbaz smashing from the very first ball. However, at 116 runs, Wright fell after scoring 40 runs. Just after five more runs Gurbaz too lost his wicket as he was cleaned up by Umair Ali. After his wicket, Bulls batters stumbled a bit but were able to ease past the total with a ball to spare.
