Abu Dhabi T10 League 2021's lowest score was registered on Friday (November 26) as Chennai braves managed to put a lowly score of 57 runs before getting bundled out in 10 overs. As expected, it turned out to be a walk in the park for Deccan Gladiators as they raced away to an easy five-wicket win.
Overall, this is the second lowest total by a team in T10 league's history. The lowest T10 league total belongs to Northern Warriors who scored just 46 runs against Qalandars in November 2019.
Batting first, Chennai Braves were made to suffer as Wanindu Hasaranga picked up three wickets in his two overs. After four overs, Braves were trying to rebuild with 35/2, but a monumental collapse in the next six overs saw them crumble. In the final six overs, they managed to score only one boundary which came in the seventh over. In the entire innings, they managed to score only one six and four boundaries.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa was the only player to score in double figures for the Braves. For Qalandars, Andre Russell and Rumman Raees picked up a couple of wickets each to break the back of the opposition. In reply, Deccan Gladiators made light work of the opposition as it took only six overs to chase the total. David Wiese took Gladiators home with the winning six on the last ball of sixth over.
Earlier in the run chase, Wahab Riaz-led side lost a cluster of wickets and was reduced to 20/4 in the third over. But cameos from opener Tom Banton and all-rounder Wiese ensured there is no anti-climax in the game as Gladiators registered their fourth win of the season.
