Arshdeep Singh sets new benchmark as India’s first bowler to reach 100 T20I wickets, third fastest globally
Indian speedster Arshdeep Singh has picked up his 100th T20I wicket during team's Asia Cup 2025 clash against Oman in Abu Dhabi.

Arshdeep Singh’s Big Achievement
Arshdeep Singh made history by becoming the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in T20 Internationals. He reached this milestone by dismissing Oman’s Vinayak Shukla. Achieving 100 wickets in just three years shows his skill and determination as a fast bowler for India.

Fastest Fast Bowler to 100 Wickets
Arshdeep became the fastest fast bowler to take 100 T20I wickets, breaking the previous record of Pakistan’s Haris Rauf. He did it in 64 matches, while Rauf took 71 matches. This highlights Arshdeep’s consistency and ability to take wickets regularly for India.

Top Fast Bowlers Arshdeep Surpassed
To reach 100 wickets quickly, Arshdeep surpassed many famous bowlers like Shaheen Afridi, Lasith Malinga, Mustafizur Rahman, Tim Southee, and Chris Jordan. This shows he is now among the elite pace bowlers in T20 cricket worldwide.

Comparison with Other Fast Bowlers
Among bowlers from full member teams, only Rashid Khan and Wanindu Hasaranga took fewer matches than Arshdeep to reach 100 wickets. Rashid achieved it in 53 matches and Hasaranga in 63. This puts Arshdeep right behind some of the best T20 bowlers globally.

Indian Bowlers Close to 100 Wickets
After Arshdeep, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are close to 100 wickets. Pandya has 96 wickets, and Bumrah has 92. These two talented players have the chance to join Arshdeep soon as India’s leading wicket-takers in T20 Internationals.

Other Indian Bowlers’ Status
Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have also taken many T20I wickets, with 96 and 90 respectively. However, they are not currently playing much in India’s T20 team, so their chances of reaching 100 wickets soon are lower compared to Pandya and Bumrah.

Arshdeep Leading India’s T20 Bowling
Currently, Arshdeep Singh holds the record for the most T20I wickets by an Indian bowler with 100 wickets. His success in fast bowling is a bright spot for India’s T20 team, showing the rise of new talent in Indian cricket as Asia Cup 2025 approaches.
