Asia Cup 2025: Arshdeep Singh just one wicket away from becoming first Indian to unlock this mighty T20I feat
Arshdeep Singh will be gunning to become India's first bowler to achieve historic T20I feat in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025

The 2025 Asia Cup is scheduled to begin on September 9 in the UAE, with India's first match set for September 10 against the host nation.

All eyes will be on pacer Arshdeep Singh, who is on the cusp of a major T20I record. With 99 wickets already to his name, he needs just one more to become the first Indian bowler to reach 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game.

Arshdeep's current record places him at the top of India’s all-time T20I wicket chart, ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal (96 wickets), Hardik Pandya (94), and Jasprit Bumrah (89).

Reaching the 100-wicket milestone would solidify his position as one of India’s most successful T20I bowlers. The left-arm pacer also has the opportunity to become the fastest pacer in the world to reach this landmark.

Overall, only spinners such as Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Sandeep Lamichhane (Nepal), and Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka) have achieved this feat before him. If he does so in the Asia Cup, he would be the fourth bowler overall to join this exclusive club.

Since his debut, Arshdeep has been a crucial asset for Team India, often entrusted with bowling in high-pressure situations. In 63 T20I matches, he has taken 99 wickets with an impressive average of 18.3.
