Suryakumar Yadav needs to hit 4 sixes in Asia Cup to surpass Nicholas Pooran on this list

India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the Men in Blue in Asia Cup 2025. This will be the 34-year-old's first major international tournament as the skipper and both him and the team will definitely be aiming to win a record ninth Asia Cup title. 

Suryakumar is quite a powerful hitter and is known for hitting maximums especially when it comes to the shortest format. He is the Indian with the second-most sixes in T20Is with a total of 146 maximums under his name so far.

Suryakumar will have a chance of surpassing both Glenn Maxwell and Nicholas Pooran on the sixes chart in Asia Cup 2025. The India batter is only two sixes behind Maxwell's tally and three sixes behind Pooran's tally. If he does manage to surpass both of them, then the 34-year-old will become the player with the fifth-most sixes in the shortest format.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar so far has a terrific record as the captain of the Indian team. He was appointed as the Men in Blue's T20I skipper after Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the format following the 2024 T20 World Cup. Under the 34-year-old's leadership, India have won all of their last 4 T20I series and will be looking to continue this form in Asia Cup.

Suryakumar has so far played 83 T20Is in his career, scoring a total of 2598 runs. He has hit 21 half-centuries and 4 centuries in the shortest format so far and will be hoping to increase his tally in the upcoming continental tournament. He is also India's third-highest run-getter in T20Is and is only behind Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli on the list.
