India's young opener Abhishek Sharma met his mentor Yuvraj Singh after clinching the Player of the Tournament in the Asia Cup 2025, where Suryakumar Yadav-led side defeated Pakistan in the title decider to win the tournament at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.

Abhishek Sharma finished the Asia Cup 2025 as the highest run-getter with 314 runs in seven innings at an average of 44.85 with a highest score of 75, including three half-centuries.

India's performance in the Asia Cup 2025
Suryakumar Yadav-led India are unbeaten in the tournament, defeating UAE, Pakistan and Oman in the Group Stage, and after that, the Men in Blue came victorious against Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the Super Four. Team India faced Pakistan in the final where they defeated Salman Ali Agha-led side to clinch their ninth Asia Cup title.
Abhishek Sharma's upcoming assignment
Abhishek Sharma will now be seen in the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia, and there are reports that the southpaw will also likely share the dressing room with batting legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He is likely to be included in India's ODI squad against Australia as well. India are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series followed by a five-match T20I, which is scheduled to start from October 19.
