India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025

Story Highlights:

Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube avoided shaking hands with Pakistan.

India beat Pakistan by seven wickets.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav and fast bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube have avoided a customary handshake with Pakistan players after guiding the side to a comfortable seven-wicket win at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai to seal their berth for the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2025.

Shaking hands after the match is a traditional gesture of good sportsmanship between opposing teams after the game, but Indian batters walk back to the pavilion after registering a one-sided win. Earlier, skipper Suryakumar Yadav refused to shake hands with the Pakistan captain during the toss.

Coming back to the match, after spin trio Axar Patel (2/18 in 4 overs), Kuldeep Yadav (3/18 in 4 overs) and Varun Chakravarthy (1/24 in 4 overs) restricted Pakistan to 127/9. In reply, India completed the chase in 15.5 overs with skipper Suryakumar Yadav (47 not out off 37 balls), Abhishek Sharma (31 off 13) and Tilak Varma (31 off 31) making significant contributions. Team India will now face Oman for their third Group Stage match, which will take place at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Brief scores:

Pakistan: 127/ 9 in 20 overs (Sahibzada Farhan 40, Shaheen Afridi 33 not out; Kuldeep Yadav 3/18, Axar Patel 2/18).

India: 131/3 in 15.5 overs (Suryakumar Yadav 47 not out, Abhishek Sharma 31, Tilak Varma 31; Saim Ayub 3/35).
