Yashasvi Jaiswal broke silence on his snub from India's Asia Cup squad

Jaiswal is inlcuded in India's reserve list for thew tournament

Yashasvi Jaiswal has finally broken his silence on being left out from India's 15-member squad for Asia Cup. The left-hand batter wasn't given a place in the squad despite his impressive IPL 2025 campaign with the Rajasthan Royals and this left many confused. Though the franchise didn't qualify for the playoffs and finished second-last on the points table, Jaiswal was their only shining lightm Notably, the left-hander was the seventh-highest run-getter of the tournament with 559 runs in 14 matches.

This is why many weren't pleased with Jaiswal's snub. The 23-year-old does have some experience at the international stage as well and has so far played 23 T20Is in his career. He has a total of 723 runs under his name, including a century and five half-centuries. He could have contributed with the bat if he was given the chance in India's squad for Asia Cup.

However, Jaiswal hasn't thought much about his snub from the Asia Cup squad, stating that in the end it is all up to the selectors. He also expressed confidence in himself and remarked that eventually 'things will fall in place' for him.

“I don't think about. It's all in the hands of selectors. The decisions are taken according to the team combination. I will do whatever I can,” Jaiswal said in a conversation with Mashable India.

"When my time comes, things will fall into place. I just want to keep working on myself and keep working hard," he added.

Jaiswal eyeing ODI World Cup triumph

Jaiswal, who has become a mainstay in India's Test set-up and recently gave impressive performances during the side's tour of England, revealed that his main goal is to win the ODI World Cup. He also recalled the Men in Blue's triumph of the 2024 T20 World Cup and described it as 'truly special'.

“I always had the belief that I would do something big. I will never stop. I will just keep working hard. My ultimate dream is to make the team win the World Cup. The T20 World Cup win in 2024 was truly special for me. We got such a good welcome in India when we came back home," Jaiswal stated.
