Hong Kong vice-captain Kinchit Shah proposes to girlfriend after Asia Cup loss to India, moment goes viral

Hong Kong lost to India in a comprehensive manner but Kinchit Shah was a happy man at the end of the day. After the 40-run loss, Kinchit walked up to the stands, went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. The photos of Shah while popping the question have gone viral since.
 

Kinchit scored 30 runs in the run chase from 28 deliveries including two fours and one six. The vice-captain lost his wicket to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. 
 

Kinchit's wicket was the last of Hong Kong's innings. They managed to post 152/5 in their maiden T20I against India. 
 

Experienced batter Babar Hayat top-scored with 35-ball 41 before getting out to Ravindra Jadeja. In the end, Zeeshan Ali and wicketkeeper-batter Scott Mckenchnie contributed with 17-ball 26 and 8-ball 16 respectively. Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh were expensive in their last over of the innings.
 

Earlier, India posted a total of 192/2. Suryakumar Yadav played a whirlwind knock of 26-ball 68 to take the game away from the minnows. Suryakumar hit six fours and as many sixes in his explosive knock. On the other end, Virat Kohli remained unbeaten for 59 off 44 deliveries including one four and three sixes. Openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma did not impress. While Rohit got out after a decent start, Rahul struggled and managed to score 36 runs from 39 deliveries. 
 

Kinchit will be seen in action again when Hong Kong take on Babar Azam-led Pakistan on September 2 at the same venue. If Hong Kong manage to beat Pakistan, it will be the biggest upset of the year. 
 

The 26-year-old contributed with crucial 34-run knock against Singapore to help them qualify for Asia Cup 2022. He top-scored for Hong Kong and helped them post 148/9. Hong Kong won the match by a small margin of eight runs.
 

So far, the Mumbai-born batter has scored 663 runs from 40 innings at an average of 20.71 including three half-centuries. His highest score in the format is 79. He scored runs at a strike rate of 107.80.
