Bangladesh qualified for the Super Fours stage of the 2023 Asia Cup.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Najmul Hossain Shanto smashed centuries.

Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has received medical clearance and joined the Bangladesh cricket team in Lahore, just in time for the Asia Cup Super Fours. Initially sidelined due to illness, his return is a welcome boost for the squad.

Bangladesh Chief Selector addresses injury concerns

Minhajul Abedin, Bangladesh's chief selector, stated, "The Asia Cup squad has a few injury concerns and the team management felt the need for an additional player going into the Super Four." Abedin confirmed that the Bangladesh Cricket Board's medical team had cleared Litton Das for participation.

Injury woes in the team

Najmul Hossain Shanto experienced hamstring issues during his century against Afghanistan, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz suffered from finger cramps and had to retire hurt. Earlier, Mustafizur Rahman was unable to play against Afghanistan due to a niggle he picked up in the Sri Lanka game on August 31.

Bangladesh's path to the Super Fours

Bangladesh secured their place in the Super Four stage following an 89-run victory over Afghanistan in their last group match in Lahore.

Anamul Haque Bijoy Fills the Gap

In Litton Das's absence, Anamul Haque Bijoy stepped up to fill the void in the top-order batting line-up. With a career spanning 44 ODIs and an impressive 1254 runs at an average of 30.58, Anamul is well-versed in international cricket.

Litton Das's return to the Bangladesh squad ahead of the Asia Cup Super Fours is a significant development, especially given the team's recent injury concerns. As they prepare for the crucial stages of the tournament, his inclusion could be the X-factor that tilts the scales in Bangladesh's favour.

In their first match of the tournament, Bangladesh suffered a five-wicket loss to Sri Lanka but backed it up with an impressive 89-run victory over Sri Lanka in their final group game.
