As the cricketing world eagerly awaits the India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2023, weather conditions in Kandy, Sri Lanka, are adding an element of uncertainty. According to the meteorological department, there's a 90-91% chance of rain on the day of the match.
The unpredictable weather in Kandy and Pallekele
Sports Tak's own sports analyst Nikhil Naz explained that the weather in Kandy and Pallekele can be as unpredictable as it is in Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram. The distance between Kandy and Pallekele is approximately 11 kilometres, and the weather can vary significantly between the two locations.
Similarities with Noida and Gurugram
Naz further elaborated that just like the weather in Noida and Gurugram can differ despite their proximity, the same is true for Kandy and Pallekele. For instance, it might rain in Kandy but remain dry in Pallekele, as happened during the Asia Cup match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
What does this mean for the India-Pakistan match?
Despite the high rain chances in Kandy, the match could still go ahead in Pallekele without any weather interruptions. Naz pointed out that most weather predictions are based on data from Kandy, but Pallekele often experiences different weather conditions. Therefore, fans might still get to witness the India-Pakistan match, even with looming rain forecasts.
A nail-biting affair
The unpredictable weather adds another layer of excitement and uncertainty to an already electrifying India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2023. Whether rain will play spoilsport or not remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: the anticipation is at an all-time high.
