As the cricketing world eagerly anticipates the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023, Bangladesh's team finds itself in a challenging situation. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has officially confirmed that opening batter Litton Das and fast bowler Ebadot Hossain will not be part of the squad for these crucial tournaments.

Litton Das, a pivotal figure in Bangladesh's batting line-up, has been ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023. His absence is a significant blow to the team's prospects in the tournament, given his consistent performances in previous matches.

Ebadot Hossain, who initially started his career as a volleyball player, transitioned to cricket and made a significant impact. He made his Test debut for Bangladesh in 2019 and has been a rising star in international cricket. However, Ebadot Hossain's career took a hit when he suffered an ACL injury during the ODI series against Afghanistan. Consequently, he has been ruled out from the World Cup 2023.

Minhajul Abedin on Ebadot Hossain's World Cup 2023 Absence

In a conversation with Cricbuzz, Bangladesh Cricket Board selector Minhajul Abedin stated that Ebadot Hossain's absence is a significant loss for the team. The fast bowler requires knee surgery, which will necessitate a recovery period of three to four months, ruling him out of the World Cup 2023 in India.

Shakib Al Hasan's Take on the Situation

Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladesh captain, expressed his disappointment over Ebadot Hossain's ouster. He highlighted that Ebadot was among the top-5 fast bowlers in the Bangladesh team, a crucial asset they will miss during the World Cup 2023.

Ebadot Hossain's Career and Stats

Ebadot Hossain, who made his ODI debut in 2022, has taken 22 wickets in 12 ODIs for Bangladesh. In domestic cricket, he has amassed 239 wickets across First Class, T20, and List A matches.
