BCCI President Roger Binny and Vice-President Rajeev Shukla received a warm welcome from PCB Chair Zaka Ashraf as they made a landmark visit to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. Upon landing in Lahore, Binny expressed his gratitude for the inviting atmosphere and noted the significance of the Asia Cup in fostering international camaraderie in cricket.

During his visit, Binny fondly recalled his last trip to Pakistan in 2005, when he was involved with the Asian Cricket Council's fast bowlers. He also revealed that he would be attending the upcoming match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The visit signifies a pivotal moment in cricket diplomacy, highlighting the sport's potential to unify nations.

"My name is Roger Binny from the BCCI. I am very pleased to be back in Pakistan. My last visit to Pakistan was in 2005 when we worked with the Pakistan fast bowlers of the Asian Cricket Council. It's been a very welcome trip. Thank you for inviting us over. We will watch Sri Lanka play Afghanistan tomorrow. Thank you very much," Binny said in a video posted by PCB.

Binny and Shukla were honored guests at an official dinner in Lahore, commemorating Pakistan's role as host of the Asia Cup. Despite BCCI's reservations about playing in Pakistan, the country is hosting four out of the thirteen Asia Cup matches, with Sri Lanka serving as co-hosts for the remainder.

As the leader of the world's wealthiest cricket governing body, Binny's visit to Pakistan places a spotlight on the importance of the Asia Cup and the ongoing collaboration between cricketing nations. It serves as a milestone in diplomatic relations between the two countries, facilitated by their shared passion for cricket.
