Star Australian batter Travis Head put on a devastating performance against England in the first T20I of the three-match series which was being played at The Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton, on September 11. He played an astonishing knock of 59 runs off just 23 balls which also included 8 fours and four stunning sixes. His knock came to an end by the final ball of the powerplay but by the team, he was walking back towards the dugout, Australia already had 86 runs on the board. He even won the Player of the Match award for his match-winning knock against the Three-Lions.
Travis Head smashes fifty in 19 balls
Travis Head did not start the innings in this dominant fashion but took his time to get settled. By the fourth over, both he and his opening partner, Matthew Short had played 12 balls each, where Head only had 15 runs in the first 12 balls, Short was batting on 25 runs off his first 12 balls, But what happened from there just blew everyone's mind. From 15 off 12 balls, Head only took 7 more balls to complete his fifty, he reached that milestone by the 19th ball of his innings.

Head smashes 30 runs in Sam Curran's over
Head was the worst nightmare for English all-rounder Sam Curran. In the fifth over, Salt introduced Curran for the first time, and little did anyone know that his attempt to get a breakthrough would backfire on them as the dynamic Aussie opener had something else in mind. He started Curran's over with back-to-back boundaries, then smashed a hat-trick of sixes and ended the over with a six. Sam gave 30 runs in his first over. Then in the next over, Head smashed a six against Saqib Mahmood to complete his fifty but also lost his wicket by the final ball of the over.
The world no T20I batter started trending on social media following his astonishing innings as everyone across the world was praising the spectacular performance put on by the Aussie heavy hitter. His consistency and style across formats have made him one of the most prominent names in the cricketing world currently.
England were able to make a comeback from there as Australia failed to utilise this great start and kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. The Aussies got all out on the score of 179 runs despite their stunning start. However, the hosts were no better when it was their turn to bat. No batter could extend his stint at the crease for too long and got out 151 runs. Australia won the first match by a margin of 28 runs.
