As Team India was gearing up to face Australia in the first of the three T20Is on September 20 (Tuesday), its star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja posted a major update on his rehabilitation. Jadeja, who was ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 after sustaining a right knee injury, shared a picture of himself on his official social media handle and captioned it as 'Restart'.

Jadeja recently underwent successful surgery for Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury but the injury has forced the star all-rounder to miss the upcoming T20 World Cup along with the two home T20I series - first against Australia and then South Africa.
Â
Jadeja has evolved as one of the vital cogs in the Indian setup. With his all-round capabilities, he offers a much-needed balance to the XI. Also, not to forget his batting style (left-handed) which allows India to make strategic changes to their batting line-up considering favourable match-ups.
Â
One such example was the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan where the left-handed batter played a matured innings and helped India win the game.
Â
In Jadeja's absence, Axar Patel has been named in India's World Cup squad. Axar is a similar player to Jadeja, batting left-handed and bowling economical left-arm spin, and has filled in for the senior all-rounder on many occasions. But given the importance of Jadeja's role, how well Axar slots into it could be key to India's chances of winning the World Cup.Â
