India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant took to Instagram to provide a positive update on his road to recovery after he met with a fatal car accident on December 30 last year. Pant suffered multiple injuries after the horrific accident which sidelined him from cricket for an indefinite period.
Pant shared a picture on his Instagram story where he was spotted sitting outside and enjoying fresh air as he captioned the photo ,"Never knew just able to sit out and breathe fresh air feels so blessed".
Here's Pant's Instagram story…
The 25-year-old will not be featuring in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia as he need to recover more to become match ready. Pant will remain out of action for over next six months, which means majority of 2023, including this year's IPL and ODI World Cup in India.
Pant was travelling from Delhi to Uttarakhand when his car collided with a divider near Roorkee. After initially being admitted in Dehradun for a few days, the star player was airlifted to Mumbai for treatment of his injuries.
Earlier, former Australia skipper Ian Chappell had said that Pant's presence would have given sleepless nights to Australia captain Pat Cummins.
"India are really going to really miss Rishabh Pant. The Australians will be happy. He is a counter attacker, the guy who keep you awake are guys who score quickly and changes game in one session. Pant was one such player," Chappell had said.
The four-match Test series between India and Australia will be played between February 9 and March 13 as the series opener will be played in Nagpur.
