Suryakumar Yadav, who is known for his explosive batting, was left shattered when he recorded a hat-trick of golden ducks in the third ODI against Australia on Wednesday (March 22). Just like first and second ODI, the T20I-format hero faltered without opening his account in the series decider and bagged an unwanted feat against his name. Suryakumar became the first Indian batter to register three consecutive golden ducks in ODIs the moment he was undone by Ashton Agar in the third ODI against Australia, while in the first and second ODI he was dismissed by Mitchell Starc.
India's batting legend Sachin Tendulkar also recorded three straight ducks back in 1994 but they came off the second deliveries. Notably, Washington Sunday also claimed the similar record against his name when he was dismissed with opening his account in three consecutive matches in 2020, but it came in a slam bang format. The golden ducks came against West Indies, Sri Lank and New Zealand.
Yadav, who is a Numero Uno in T20I batting rankings, also became the 14 batter overall to record three consecutive golden ducks in ODIs.

The 32-year-old was fell to Agar when India needed him the most while chasing 270 in the series decider. But Agar's dismantled his stump in the 36th over to leave India reeling at 185/6. After Suryakumar's dismissal, India ran out of steam and surrendered to Australia and lost the match by 21 runs and ultimately lost the three-match series 1-2.
