IND vs AUS: 'King is back' — Virat Kohli's 28th Test century for India earns plaudits from cricketers old and new

SportsTak

It was a magical moment in Ahmedabad when India's cricketing king — Virat Kohli — ended his long century drought of 1204 days in Test cricket during the fourth match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia on Sunday, March 12. It was his 28th century in Tests, and 75th in international cricket, as the former India skipper took the match away from the hands of the Australians.

Kohli's last Test ton came in ]November 2019 against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata. This was his third century in 2023 after his two ODI hundreds against Sri Lanka earlier in the year, and his imperious form earned praise from near and far.

The biggest praises are the ones from legendary cricketers and none more so than former West Indian cricketer Ian Bishop.

His Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also did not miss out on the chance to laud their former captain.

Wasim Jaffer, being his usual quirky self, chose the perfect video to describe Kohli's influence on this game, and in Indian cricket as a whole.

Here are some of the other reactions from former and current cricketers, as well as pundits and fans after King Kohli completed his Test century.
