The wait is over and India couldn't have more happening start to the Border-Gavaskar series. Australia won the toss and opted to bat first in the first Test of the four-match series against India in Nagpur on Thursday (February 9).
David Warner’s poor Test record in India has further extended as Mohammed Shami's ripper sent the southpaw's off stump for a walk. He castled him for just one in the ongoing Test. Australia’s decision to win the toss and bat first has backfired so far as India are off to a stunning start. Both the Australia openers are back in the hut after scoring one run each to leave their team reeling at 2/2. Siraj gave India the first breakthrough by trapping in-form Usman Khawaja in front of the stumps. The umpire had initially given his decision in the favour of the batsman before India reviewed and sent back Khawaja.
Warner has always been uncomfortable against bowlers bowling from round the wicket and Shami munched on the same as he fully exploited it. He made the best use of the angle from round the stumps and bowled a length delivery that moved in after landing on the pitch before beating Warner’s bat. The ball went on to hit the off-stump and sent it flying.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav ans Srikar Bharat made Test debut for India while Australia handed Baggy Green to Todd Murphy. Notably, Australia haven't won a Test series in India for the past 19 years.
