The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a big announcement on Monday and released three big stars from the Indian Test squad against Bangladesh in the second Test which is being played at the Green Park Cricket Stadium in Kanpur. Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal have been released from the Indian squad for the upcoming Irani Cup 2024 which will be played between Mumbai and the Rest of India.
“Update: Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal have been released from India's Test squad to participate in the #IraniCup, scheduled to commence tomorrow in Lucknow,” wrote BCCI from their official ‘X’ account formerly known as Twitter.

Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Rest of India (ROI) is all set to compete against Ajinkya Rahane's Mumbai in the upcoming edition of the ZR Irani Cup 2024 which will be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow from 1st – 5th October 2024. The inclusion of Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal in the Rest of India team is contingent was dependant upon their non-participation in the upcoming second Test match in Kanpur against Bangladesh. However, as India played this match with an unchanged Xi, they were cleared to compete for their ROI side. Similarly, Sarfaraz Khan is all clear for representing the Mumbai team as he also not involved in the second Test match directly.
