Jasprit Bumrah achieved a big milestone on Day 2 of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. Bumrah became the tenth Indian bowler and the sixth Indian pacer to complete 400 wickets across all formats in international cricket.
Bumrah Reaches 400 Wickets Milestone
Bangladesh's Hasan Mahmud fell victim to Bumrah's 400th wicket. Bumrah continued his impressive form on home soil, claiming three wickets in the first two sessions of the day. He struck in his very first over, dismissing Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam. Bumrah then added two more wickets to his tally, removing Mushfiqur Rahim and Hasan Mahmud in the second session.
Bumrah Joins Elite Group of Indian Pacers
30-year-old Bumrah joined a prestigious group of Indian fast bowlers that includes Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammed Shami. Bumrah reached the landmark of 400 wickets in his 227th international innings.

Bumrah, who made his Test debut in 2018, has took no time to evolve into a formidable force in red-ball cricket. Widely regarded as one of the best all-format bowlers in the world, Bumrah has defied expectations after initially being seen as a white-ball specialist. Notably, Bumrah showcased his dominance in Indian conditions, claiming 19 wickets in four Test matches against England earlier this year.
Talking about the match, following a strong batting performance in their first innings, India's bowlers continued to dominate on Day 2 of the first Test against Bangladesh. Led by Bumrah, the Indian pace attack dismantled the Bangladeshi batting lineup, bowling them out for a paltry 149 runs.
Bumrah, known for his lethal pace and precision, picked up four wickets. Akash Deep also contributed with two wickets. Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with wickets of their own. India's impressive bowling performance helped them establish a substantial first-innings lead of 227 runs.
