Indian cricket team has assembled together ahead of their upcoming red-ball clashes against Najmul Hossain Shanto's Bangladesh side. They will be taking on each other in a two-match Test series and the first match is scheduled to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and will start on October 19. Rohit Sharma-led side has the opportunity to create a historic record that has never happened before in the Indian history. They are just shy of one more Test win to reach this milestone and will have that chance in the first Test against Bangladesh.

In the history of Test cricket, India has so far played a total of 579 matches. In which Team India has so far won 178 matches. Whereas India has had to face defeat in the same number of matches. Apart from this, India has played 222 test match draws and one match has been tied. So, if Team India beats the Bangladesh team in the first Test match to be held in Chennai, then it will be the first time in the history of Indian Test cricket that the number of Test matches won by Team India will be more than the number of Test matches lost.

 

India will join elite club with Pakistan

 

Till now there are only four teams in the history of Test cricket that have more wins than losses. Australia has played 866 test matches so far and they have 414 wins and 232 losses. After this, England has 397 wins and 325 losses in a total of 1077 test matches. After this, South Africa has 179 wins and 161 losses in its name in 466 test matches. Whereas Pakistan has 148 wins and 144 losses in 458 matches.
