Jasprit Bumrah tops bowling charts, becomes highest wicket-taker of 2024 during IND vs BAN 1st Test

His performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024 not only won India the title but also awarded him with the Player of the Tournament award and he made his much-awaited return with a two-match Test series and continued the terrific run with the red ball as well. He has now become the leading wicket-taker in the year 2024. He took a four-fer in the first innings and reached this epic milestone after taking the first one in the final innings.

 

Jasprit Bumrah becomes highest wicket-taker of 2024

 

Bumrah has 47 wickets in 14 matches and sits at the top of the list. He has played the least matches in the top 10 of this list and still has more wickets than the rest of the players. He leads the Indian attack and has been the one to provide breakthroughs whenever the team needs one.

Taskin Ahmed (BAN) - 36 wickets in 18 matches

 

India moving towards winning first Test

 

India posted 376 in the first innings with the help of Ashwin's ton and later bowled Bangladesh out on 149 runs to gain a huge lead of 227 runs. Then Pant and Gill's century powered India to raise their lead to 514 runs before Rohit Sharma decided to call off the innings when India's score was 287/4. Bangladesh now have a 515 run target in front of them. At the time of writing, Bangladesh have lost two wickets on the score of 100 by the 25th over.
