BCCI announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series which will start from October 6 and the first match will be played at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. However, there were six players that were not a part of the team but were there in the previous squad for the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Mohammed Siraj, and Khaleel Ahmed are the ones who missed out this time. However, there is a reason behind it.
Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, and Mohammed Siraj were part of the Test squad which competed against Bangladesh in the two-match series and they would most likely be part of the team taking on New Zealand for their three-match red-ball series and are given rest for that series. However, that might not be the scene for Khaleel Ahmed, there's no clear reason on why the pacer was not included in the squad.
