Indian’s T20 World Cup 2024-winning captain Rohit Sharma is known for failing to keep a track of timings or his belongings. In a recent interaction between former captain Virat Kohli and head coach Gautam Gambhir the latter asked what should he his first question to Rohit? Kohli was serious at first and then said that Gambhir should ask him whether he eats soaked almonds in the morning to avoid forgetting things.
“So Virat, the next guest is Rohit. What do you want me to ask? What would be the first question to Rohit?” Gambhir asked towards the end of the interview as his next guest will be the 37-year-old.
“I think it is a very simple question for Rohit ki subah bheege badaam khaate ho ya nahi? (do you eat soak almonds in the morning?)” Kohli replied to leave Gambhir laughing.
The former Indian opener joined Kohli in trolling Rohit’s leg as well and said, “Subah 11 baje ki jagah raat ke 11 baje aa rahe ho? (I’m afraid he may come at 11 PM instead of 11 AM.)”
Rohit wants his players to reply with performance
Earlier, in the pre-match press conference, Rohit took a dig at Bangladesh who recently registered a historic Test series win against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
He pointed out that like Bangladesh, England players had a lot to say before the series earlier this year as well. He wants the team to focus on their game instead of pre-match comments.
"(Sabko India ko Harana, sabko India ko harne me maza aata, Thik hai Bangladesh ko baat karne do, England ne bhi bahut kuch bola tha Test series se pahle, but apne kaam hai field par Jawab dena aur apne performance se) Every team wants to beat India, they all enjoy that, lene do maze.) We have played lot of cricket against variety of teams. We will focus on our own game. When England came they also spoke a lot in the press conferences, but we do not focus on that; We try to play good cricket and not think too much about opposition,” Rohit said at the press conference in Chennai on September 17.
The two-Test series will begin at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on September 19.
