Mahmudul Hasan Ruled Out of Pakistan Tests

Bangladesh have suffered a significant blow ahead of the crucial Test series against Pakistan with the news of Mahmudul Hasan's injury. The promising opener sustained a right groin strain while fielding during a four-day match against Pakistan Shaheens, forcing him to miss at least three weeks of action.

Hasan had been in impressive form, contributing significantly to Bangladesh A's success against Pakistan Shaheens. His scores of 69 and 65 in previous matches, along with a well-made 65 in the first innings of the recent four-day game, highlighted his readiness for the Test challenge. His absence is a considerable setback for Bangladesh as they look to compete against Pakistan.

“We have received a mail regarding Mahmudul where it is stated that he sustained injury to his right groin and as a result he is being rested for three weeks,” BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

The two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to commence on August 21 in Rawalpindi, followed by the second Test in Karachi from August 30. Despite the prevailing political unrest, the Bangladesh cricket team arrived in Pakistan well in advance to acclimatise to local conditions. They completed a three-day practice session in Lahore before heading to Islamabad for the series.

The Bangladesh cricket team has encountered difficulties in maintaining communication with their families due to slow internet connectivity at their hotel in Pakistan. Despite the PCB's successful management of the team's arrival and logistics, the internet issue has raised concerns about the players' overall well-being and comfort during their stay. The team management has been informed of the problem and is working to resolve it.
