Pakistan cricket team is taking on Bangladesh in the first Test of the two-match series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on August 21 (Wednesday). Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bowl first and the decision turned out fine as they managed to pick up three wickets inside the first 9 overs itself. They dismissed Abdullah Shafique, Captain Shan Masood, and star batter Babar Azam to throw the hosts on the backfoot early on. However, Masood's dismissal sparked a controversy as many believed he was not out.
Shan Masood's controversial dismissal
On the fifth ball of the seventh over, Shoriful Islam bowled a good length delivery that changed its direction after pitching towards the left-hander. Masood was not able to judge the ball and nicked it before the ball was comfortably collected by the keeper.

The on-field umpire did not give him out but Bangladesh right away went upstairs with their review which later turned the decision in their favour. However, during the DRS call when the third umpire was checking with the ultra edge the ball appeared close to both bat and pad at the same time from both side and front angle which started a buzz among fans that it was not out but was given out.
Even PCB from their official account posted a question with the video of dismissal asking if it is out or not out. The clip is now going viral all over the internet at a rapid pace. Even Shan Masood was having an animated chat with the on-field umpires before going out.
Shoriful Islam got two wickets and Hasan Mahmud got one. Babar along with Abdullah Shafique and captain Shan Masood is back in the pavilion. However, a 65-run partnership between Saim Ayub and Saud Shakeel has revived the hosts' innings before tea. Pakistan is batting at 81/3 and Ayub is playing at 42.
