Bangladesh's Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz played crucial knocks to help Bangladesh recover from horrific start on Day 3 of the third Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi on September 1.

Bangladesh, struggling at 26-6 in response to Pakistan's first innings score of 274, formed a crucial 165-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Das scored 138 runs with 13 fours and four sixes, while Miraz contributed 78 runs with 12 fours and a six. Their efforts helped Bangladesh reach a total of 262 all out, despite Khurram Shahzad's six wickets for Pakistan. Meanwhile, Pakistan got off to a horrific start despite the slender 12-run lead. At the end of Day 3's play Pakistan were teetering at 9/2 with Saim Ayub intact on the crease after Khurram Shahzad and Abdullah Shafique returned to the pavillion with scoring much.

On the third day of the second Test, Pakistan ended the day at 9-2 in their second innings, leading by 21 runs. Hasan Mahmud dismissed Abdullah Shafique and Shahzad on the final ball of the day. Earlier, Bangladesh resumed at 10 without loss after a washed-out opening day. However, they faced immediate pressure from Shahzad, who bowled with pace and swing, dismissing Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto. Mir Hamza also took two quick wickets, adding to Bangladesh's struggles.

 

Shahzad dismissed Shakib Al Hasan, leaving Bangladesh in a difficult position, needing 98 runs to avoid the follow-on. However, Das and Miraz formed a crucial partnership, taking Bangladesh to 75-6 at lunch. They played aggressively against the Pakistan bowlers and both reached their half-centuries. Despite Miraz's dismissal, Das continued to bat and scored his fourth Test century, adding to Pakistan's frustration.

Das and Miraz formed a crucial partnership of over 150 runs. Despite Miraz's dismissal, Das continued to bat and scored his fourth Test century. Their efforts helped Bangladesh set a competitive total, making the match even more interesting.
