How did the 2nd Test between West Indies and Bangladesh unfold?
The first day of the second Test between West Indies and Bangladesh was dominated by the hosts, with Kemar Roach emerging as the star performer. Despite a rain-affected day that limited play to just 30 overs, West Indies managed to get off to a solid start. After electing to bat first, Bangladesh lost early wickets, with Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Mominul Haque falling cheaply. Roach's fiery spell proved to be too hot for the Bangladesh openers, reducing them to 10/2 in the seventh over. However, Shadman Islam's resilient knock of 50* off 100 balls helped stabilise the innings. His unbeaten 59-run partnership with Shahadat Hossain Dipu provided some respite for Bangladesh, but West Indies remained firmly in control at the end of the day.
