WI vs BAN: Bangladesh bundled by West Indies for paltry 103, join unwanted list with India, New Zealand

SportsTak

Bangladesh suffered the ignominy of becoming the seventh team to lose six batters in a single innings for ducks, including twice in the same year after they were dismissed for 103 runs during their first Test match against West Indies on Thursday. The last time this happened with the team was during their match against Sri Lanka in the previous series.

Jayden Seales and Alzarri Joseph were the two heroes for West Indies, scalping three wickets each, while Kemar Roach and Kyle Mayers picked up two each as the Bangladesh batter were unable to get any momentum in their game.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan was their best batter and scored almost half the runs that his team scored on day 1. Meanwhile, Hasan Joy, Hossain Shanto, Mominul Haque, Nurul Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, and Khaled Ahmed were the six batters that lost their wickets for ducks. Tamim Iqbal (29) and Liton Das (12) were the two others who touched double digits for Bangladesh.

Surprisingly, this is the third time in total, and the second time this year, that Bangladesh have joined this. The first were Pakistan, which first made its name on this unwanted list in 1980, against the same opponents (West Indies). Apart from Pakistan and Bangladesh, the list also includes teams from South Africa, India, and New Zealand.
