The Big Bash League (BBL) game between Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars on January 22 (Sunday) paved way for an epic moment that left onlookers and commentators chuckling. The incident occurred on the first ball of the third over bowled by Brisbane bowler Michael Neser. Melbourne batter Thomas Rogers punched the back of the length delivery on the off side and split the gap perfectly.

As the ball raced away on a lush green outfield, four fielders began their chase in order to stop the cherry from going to the fence.  Two fielders, who were stationed inside the 30-yeard circle at covers, were joined by a mid-off fielder while the player protecting the deep third-man region also ran full speed to stop the ball.

The cover fielder dived and saved the ball but his attempt of relaying the cherry to another fielder didn't come off as expected.
