Mohammad Amir hasn't taken a wicket in three CPL games.

New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert wreaked havoc at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. Playing for Saint Lucia Kings, he smashed Antigua and Barbuda Falcons' Pakistan left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir for two three sixes and a four to finish off the run chase with three overs to spare.

In the run chase of 143, Seifert walked in to bat in the 15th over when the team needed 27 runs from 31 deliveries. He did not let opener Johnson Charles complete hist half-century. After Imad Wasim's economical over, Seifert went after Amir.

The first ball of the seventh over was sent over mid-wicket boundary for a maximum. On the second ball, he shuffled across the stumps and pulled it over wicketkeeper Sam Billings' head for a six. On the third ball, he hit it over extra-cover for a boundary. After two singles, Seifert finished the run chase with a massive six over mid-wicket.

Amir’s horrendous run in CPL

The Kiwi wicketkeeper remained unbeaten for 26 runs from just 11 balls. On the other end, Charles played the anchor role and scored 47 runs from 46 balls. Amir remained wicketless in third consecutive game and conceded 45 runs. This is his most expensive spell in the ongoing CPL. The only wicket he picked up was in the opening game against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

“It's been a pleasure to be playing in the CPL, under different conditions and I'm trying to give my best to the team. I had a good partnership with the rest of the bowlers and I enjoyed it, the atmosphere is good and we're all trying to give our best for the team,” Noor said in the post-match presentation.
