Former India captain Sourav Ganguly backed Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir's decision to exclude Arshdeep Singh and Rishabh Pant from India's playing XI for their tournament's opener clash against Bangladesh at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. 

Many cricket experts and fans were surprised by India's decision to bench Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep for the Bangladesh clash but in the exclusive conversation with Sports Tak, Ganguly backed Gambhir and Rohit, saying that India have a quality squad and they will get a chance in the tournament.

"The team is very good. Everyone is a good player and will get the chance. 11 people can play but India has all the quality 16 cricketers who can play in any stage at playing eleven. The coach and Captain can choose only eleven. Rishabh Pant is a brilliant player He will play. He will get a chance with time" Ganguly told Sports Tak. 

 

Ganguly also backed struggling Kohli saying that the former India captain is a big player. Ganguly is hopeful that Kohli will get his mojo back in the upcoming clash against Pakistan. 

"Virat Kohli's form will be ok. He is big player in white ball format. Sometimes it happens in one or two innings. He is a big-match player. The match is big and the player is also big. In this pressure situation, He scored many runs before also" 

 

Team India have already won their first league match against Bangladesh by six wickets and now the Men in Blue will face Pakistan for their second league match which will take place at the same venue on February 23.
