India vice-captain Shubman Gill lavished praise on Rohit Sharma's batting approach ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025 high-voltage clash against Pakistan. Gill believes that Rohit's attacking style and Gill's ability to play grounded shots made them perfect openers. 

India's captain has changed his batting strategy as he started hitting from the very first over to put early pressure on bowlers. He recently scored 41 off 36 during India's Champions Trophy opener clash against Bangladesh at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai and Gill played an unbeaten match-winning knock of 101 runs as India defeated Bangladesh by six wickets.

"The way we play the game in the powerplay, it is quite different. He likes to play in the air and I like to keep it on the ground. That's the hallmark of the pair, that we have different strengths and the bowlers have to think which areas they have to target as we play shots that are different to one another" said Gill during the press conference ahead of the Pakistan clash.

Team India are currently in Dubai, preparing for their second clash where they will face arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23 at the same venue. Team India will look to win the clash to seal their berth for the semifinal. On the other hand, Pakistan are coming after losing their opener clash against New Zealand, the upcoming clash will be a do-or-die for the Champions Trophy 2025 hosts. India will face New Zealand in their third league match on March 2 and Pakistan will face Bangladesh in their third league match which will take place on February 27.
