India cricketers including ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma are currently featuring in domestic cricket after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made it mandatory for all cricketers where they were not part of any other series after 1-3 loss in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia. India star batters Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Rohit who all are part of India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad got out on single-digit scores.
Rohit Sharma

Yashasvi Jaiswal
Apart from Rohit, young left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal who came to bat alongside Rohit during Mumbai's same Ranji match against Jammu & Kashmir was the first breakthrough for the bowling side. Auqib Nabi Dar picked up Jaiswal's wicket in the third over of the first inning. Jaiswal was in lethal form during his last red-ball assignment in Australia. He ended the series by scoring 391 runs in five Test matches which was second highest after Australia's Travis Head.
Shubman Gill
India batter Shubman Gill who is leading Punjab also got cheaply dismissed while featuring against Karnataka at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He was featured in Ranji matches after 2022. After being asked to bat, Gill came to open alongside Prabhsimran Singh but the side failed to get a good start as hosts Karnataka's pacer Abhilash Shetty got the first breakthrough for his side picking Shubman Gill on the fourth over of the first inning. He just scored four runs.
Rishabh Pant
India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant who is considered one of the best Indian batters in red-ball cricket got out after scoring just one run while featuring for Delhi against two-time winners Saurashtra. The ongoing clash is a must-win for both the teams in Group D.Both Delhi and Saurashtra, placed fourth and fifth respectively, have just one win each in the last Elite Group and they have a lot of ground to cover against table-toppers Tamil Nadu and Chandigarh.
Shreyas Iyer
Another Mumbai batter Shreyas Iyer got out on just 11 runs against Jammu and Kashmir. Umar Nazir Mir was the pick of the bowlers for J&K. The 31-year-old speedster's four quick wickets put defending Champions Mumbai in a spot of bother. Iyer who played his last international match against Sri Lanka on August 7, 2024 has also been named in India's Champions Trophy squad.
