The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to start from February 19 in a hybrid model with matches taking place in Pakistan and Dubai where India will play all their matches in UAE. The tournament opener clash will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand in Pakistan. India will start their campaign against Bangladesh in Dubai on February 20.
Teams featuring in the marquee event will start arriving in Pakistan from January 25 for practice matches to get familiar with the conditions in Pakistan. Earlier, the date was 31st December.
Team India who will play all their league matches in Dubai are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series against England which is scheduled to take place from February 6 to 12.
Sources close to Sports Tak revealed that Team India are scheduled to play at least one practice game in Dubai before the Champions Trophy to get familiar with the conditions. The dates and opponents for India's warm-up matches before the mega event are yet to be decided.
"Practice matches are yet to be announced training facilities are being worked out But at least one game will be given to India for practice before the start of their competition. The team is yet not finalised" told a source close to Sports Tak.
India will play three league matches in the marquee event where the first match will be against Bangladesh after that the Rohit Sharma-led side will lock horns against arch-rivals Pakistan in the high-voltage clash of the tournament. India will face New Zealand in their last league match of the eight-team tournament.
One of the semifinals will also take place in Dubai and the venue for the final depends upon India's performance. If India managed to qualify for the final then it will also take place in Dubai, otherwise the league match will take place in Lahore.
