After a long gap, India and Pakistan will lock horns in the ODI format on February 23. Ahead of their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash in Dubai, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi feels that there is a lack of aggression among current players. The panel also included legendary players Inzamam-ul Haq, Yuvraj Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu.

"Aaj kal ke players sab McDonalds, KFC wale hai (Today's players are Mcdonalds, KFC generation)", Afridi said when asked about aggression on Star Sports' show.

After Afridi's hilarious reply, there was talk about fitness of players to which Yuvraj responded, "Aap fitness ke baare me baat na kare (It will be better if you don't talk about fitness)".

Yuvraj also compared the relationship between the two nations to that of a husband and a wife.

"India vs Pakistan relationship is like miya-biwi. In the morning they quarrel and in the evening they eat together," Yuvraj said during the same discussion.

Sidhu also pitched in and said that people in India can accept defeat against anyone but Pakistan. Inzamam said that the reason behind the rivalry between India and Pakistan is that it used to be part of one nation.

Afridi has also raised questions about the squad selection. However, he chose not to name few players he feels should not have been in the squad.

"I have objections to some players in the squad, but I won’t name them. We must stand behind our team," he stated.

India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy head-to-head

In ODI World Cups, Pakistan are yet to beat India but in ICC Champions Trophy history, they have an upper hand. Pakistan have beaten India three times out of five in Champions Trophy history.

Afridi played a crucial 12-ball 25 cameo in the first Champions Trophy encounter between two teams in 2004. Five years later, Afridi got the wickets of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni in Pakistan's 54-run win. Then India won two games in a row before losing in the Champions Trophy 2017 final.
