Following India's Champions Trophy 2025 glory in Dubai, T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav came out with a heartfelt Instragram post for the Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma led from the front in India's four-wicket win over New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 final at the Dubai International stadium on March 9 which handed Men in Blue their second successive ICC title after T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. Rohit cracked a crucial 76 runs which helped India chase down the 252-run total in the final with an over to spare.
Prior to the tournament, Rohit Sharma faced considerable criticism, with his captaincy being questioned. In response, Suryakumar Yadav publicly defended Sharma before the final match. After India's Champions Trophy title triumph, he further expressed his admiration for the Indian ODI captain through social media.
Suryakumar shared an Instagram post featuring a series of celebratory images of Rohit Sharma. In his message, he described Rohit as one of the most approachable, supportive, and genuinely kind individuals in contemporary cricket. He concluded by congratulating Rohit on adding another prestigious ICC title to his already impressive career.

Despite facing external pressure to temper his aggressive batting style, Rohit remained committed to his natural approach in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand. In pursuit of a 252-run target, gave India a stormy start which set the tone of the match. The Indian captain forged a crucial 105-run opening partnership with Shubman Gill, laying a solid foundation for the run chase. His innings was studded with seven fours and three sixes.
Although Rohit's dismissal momentarily created tension among fans, valuable contributions from Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Axar Patel ensured India reached the target with an over to spare. Following the victory, Rohit clarified his future plans, confirming his continued participation in ODI cricket and dispelling any rumors of immediate retirement.
