India's veteran batter Virat Kohli has gained once place in the ICC ODI batter rankings following his unbeaten 100 in the run chase against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 encounter in Dubai. Kohli is now ranked fifth with 743 rating points surpassing New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell (717 rating points).
The top spot still belongs to Shubman Gill as he extended the lead over Pakistan's Babar Azam (770 rating points). He is followed by Indian captain Rohit Sharma (757 rating points) and South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen (749 rating points). There were no more changes in the top 10. Travis Head slipped one place to 13th after a single-digit score against England.
Pakistan batters suffer, Duckett's giant leap
Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman and captain Mohammad Rizwan slipped to 18th and 20th spot. Australia captain Steve Smith slipped four spots too to take the 22nd spot. England opener Ben Duckett took a giant leap of 27 places to take the 27th spot. KL Rahul gained too and took the 15th spot as he went up two places. New Zealand opener Will Young was rewarded for his century against co-hosts Pakistan with an eight position rise. Young is now ranked 14th.
Kiwi trio climb high
Three other New Zealand batters gained big. Back from injury, Rachin Ravindra smashed a century against Bangladesh and climbed 18 places to occupy the 24th place. The Kiwi middle-order batter Glenn Phillips went up 12 places to take the 28th position. His experienced teammate Tom Latham went up 11 places after a century against Pakistan. Latham is now ranked 31st.
Williamson slips, Inglis and Jaker in top 100
There were several other changes in top 50. New Zealand's Kane Williamson went 10 places down to 37th. Meanwhile, Josh Inglis after an unbeaten 120 against England made it to top 100. He jumped 18 places to take 88th spot. A jump of 64 places saw Bangladesh's Jaker Ali move to 94th spot after a half-century and 45-run knock against India and New Zealand respectively.
