Team India's sloppy fielding was on full display during their Champions Trophy 2025's campaign opener against Bangladesh at the Dubai International stadium on February 20. While Indian bowlers totally dominated to keep Bangladesh batters in check, their fielding was nothing short of disastrous. While, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya dropped easy catches, KL Rahul did no less to add to team's fielding woes. KL Rahul apparently missed an easy stumping chance which left Virat Kohli visibly frustrated at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Virat Kohli shouts in anger after KL Rahul missed easy stumping
Rahul's fielding lapse occurred in the 23rd over, allowing Jaker Ali another life. This was Jaker's second reprieve in the match. In the preceding over, Ravindra Jadeja bowled a drifting full delivery towards the leg-stump, enticing Jaker Ali into a flick. The batsman stepped out of his crease, presenting a clear opportunity for a stumping.
However, Rahul failed to collect the ball cleanly, missing the stumping chance. After Rahul's missed chance, Kohli was spotted shouting in frustration.
Jaker went on to bail Bangladesh out of precarious position. Bangladesh were once reeling at 35/5 after the top order collapse but Jaker and Towhid Hridoy came to Tigers' rescue and rallied them to a stable 189 after the end of 42 overs. However, Mohammad Shami came to hunt down Jaker at the score of 68 in the 43rd over to leave Bangladesh teetering again at 189/6.
