In the high-octane clash at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022, India take on Pakistan as Bismah Maroof-led side won the toss and elected to bat first on Sunday (July 31).
However, due to rain the match has been reduced to 18 overs per side owing to all the delays.
All-rounder Meghna Singh, who recovered from COVID-19, has replaced Harleen Kaur, while Sneh Rana has made it to the playing XI in place of Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
India's skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said," Two changes for us. Wanted to bowl first. Always better to chase in these conditions. Want to go with the same approach (as against Australia).
Paksitan captain Bismah said," We'll bat first. It's an important match, will like to put on a target. Very important match to stay alive".
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side suffered a three-wicket defeat against Australia in their opener clash, despite a half-century from the captain.
Meanwhile, even Renuka Thakur's four-wicket haul went in vain as an unbeaten half-century by Ashleigh Garner secured a victory for the Aussies.
On the other hand, Pakistan also fell to an opening defeat, losing to Barbados by 15 runs. Both sides will be aiming to grab their first wins of the tournament, and will be hoping to get their respective campaigns back on track.
However this is for the fourth time Indian women and Pakistan women are locking horn with each other in the T20Is. Before this, out of 11 encounters, Indian have registered victory in nine occasions and Pakistan could only win two.
