In a bizarre incident on the cricket field, Leicestershire's batter got dismissed in an uncanny fashion during the County Cricket's match at the County Ground in Bristol which left everyone stunned.
On Day 3 of the County Cricket's Division two match between Leicestershire and Gloucestershire, Louis Kimber was declared out for apparently ‘Obstructing the Field’.
Gloucestershire piled up a big total of 368 runs on the board in their first innings. In reply, Leicestershire got off to a shaky start as four of their batters returned to pavilion at the score of 193 with Lewis Hill and Louis Kimber present in the middle to rescue team's innings. But what happened in the 78th over took everyone by surprise. In a peculiar fashion Kimber was given out for ‘Obstructing the Field’ while defending a spinning delivery from Oliver Price. However, Kimber ended up holding the ball with his glove when the ball was still in motion. Witnessing this, the entire team of Gloucestershire appealed for an out which saw the onfield umpires launching a discussion between themselves. Moments later the umpires announced their verdict and Kimber was given out for obstructing the field. Kimber's dismissal after scoring 34 off 66 left Leicestershire teetering at 258/5.

Kimber's bizarre dismissal launched debate on social media where some cricket fans called it not fair while few termed it unfair.
Batting first, Gloucestershire posted a total of 368 runs riding on Oliver Price and Danny Lamb's impressive knocks of 85 and 70 runs respectively. Ajeet Dale too struck a brilliant half century (52). Meanwhile, Leicestershire bowlers Chris Wright and Josh Hull snared three wickets apiece while Tom Scriven and Callum Parkinson grabbed two wickets each.
In reply to Gloucestershire's 368, Leicestershire were reduced to 350 despite Lewis Hill's blistering century (103). Meanwhile, Rishi Patel took chipped in with 59 runs for Leicestershire. Zaman Akhter dazzled with the ball for Gloucestershire who grabbed a four-wicket haul to keep Leicestershire batters in check.
As of Day 2's stumps Gloucestershire are 9 for no loss with Ben Charlesworth (1*) and Chris Dent (1*) intact on the crease.
