Former England captain Michael Vaughan on March 15 (Wednesday) responded to former India batter Wasim Jaffer's subtle dig on Twitter. After Bangladesh stunned the cricketing world on March 14 (Tuesday) by securing a historic series whitewash of reigning T20 World champions England, their unprecedented display sent social media in overdrive with former cricketers, pundits and fans applauding Shakib-Al-Hasan's men for their tremendous effort against white-ball giants.
Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer used the opportunity to take a dig at former England captain Michael Vaughan. Jaffer and Vaughan have been involved in several Twitter banter over the years and the former added another chapter to their social media rivalry.
"Hello @MichaelVaughan, long time no see #BANvENG," Jaffer said in a tweet in which he shared a picture of himself in the Bangladesh shirt.
Vaughan replied to Jaffer in two words and tried to shut down the former India batter by sharing a picture of England skipper Jos Buttler holding the 2022 T20 World Cup trophy.
"Morning Wasim ..," Vaughan said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, too much experimenting hurt England. It started with the dead rubber third ODI where Bangladesh won by 50 runs. In the first T20I, Bangladesh won by six wickets with two overs to spare. In the second T20I, England suffered a batting collapse and the hosts won the game by four wickets with seven balls to spare. Buttler revealed that he was giving chance to batters to bat higher up the order which they would not get normally. It backfired as England could not win a single game in the T20I series.
