Legendary spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed concerns about India's team composition for the second Test against England which is set to kick off from February 2. With KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja sidelined due to injuries, Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar was included in India's squad for the second Test against England. Harbhajan noted the strong performance of both Rahul and Jadeja in the first Test, and voiced worries about the batting lineup's lack of experience, especially after a 0-1 setback in the five-match series.
Harbhajan wants India to be wary of inexperienced batting line-up
Harbhajan Singh, in his analysis, highlighted that the second Test between India and England is likely to be played on a spin-friendly pitch. The legendary spinner also said that among the current batters, Ravichandran Ashwin ranks as the second-highest scorer after captain Rohit Sharma, which he sees as a clear inexperience in India's batting line-up.
"The team looks decent, but lacks experience. Yes, there is Rohit Sharma, but the next best run-scorer is Ashwin. In terms of batting, the line-up looks weak. And if they play on a turning track, which I feel they will because they have added Washington Sundar while having Kuldeep Yadav, Ashwin and Axar Patel," Harbhajan said during his analysis on YouTube.
"I fear India don't end up losing after making a turning pitch for England. This batting unit is young, they need time, and if they get a good track, they might even perform well," Harbhajan Singh further added.
Virat Kohli will join India's camp after the conclusion of the second Test against England as he took break from the first two matches duo to personal reason.
