India have taken an unassailable 3-1 lead in the Test series against England.

India have taken an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-Test series against England but top-order batter Shubman Gill's thirst for runs isn't quenched yet. Gill who justified his spot as India's no.3 batter, a place that belonged to Cheteshwar Pujara for years, was seen training alone in Mohali's PCA stadium during the break between two Tests.

Gill was seen sprinting in a video that has gone viral on social media. Earlier, a video of Gill batting in the nets under his father’s supervision went viral as well.

Gill’s return to form

In the Ranchi Test, Gill scored 38 in the first innings and then took India home with an unbeaten 52. In the Rajkot Test, he followed a nine-ball duck with a 91-run knock. He missed his century after getting run out due to a mix-up with Sarfaraz Khan. Earlier, in Vizag, he ended his drought of centuries in the format with a 104-run knock.

Win in Dharamsala crucial

The fifth and final Test of the series against Ben Stokes-led England will begin on March 7. While India have the series in the bag, a win in the fifth Test will help them get crucial 12 points in the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. India are currently in the second spot with 62 points from eight games.

Gill’s stunning revelation last month

Last month, Gill revealed why he gave up his opening spot where Yashasvi Jaiswal has excelled with two double centuries to his name already. The 24-year-old also said that batting at no.3 and no.4 is something that is not new to him.

"I have batted at No. 3 and No. 4 for India A and in some Ranji Trophy matches, and as such, it was not something that I have never done in my life. There are not many technical changes that I had to make to my game,” Gill told the reporters in Ranchi.

"But it is different when you open the innings because you don't get that much time to think as you are going right in after the toss. You are the one who is setting the tone," he added.
