Indian star batter Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 214 runs off 236 balls to secure his second double hundred in Tests on Day 4 of the ongoing India vs England Test series in Rajkot. Jaiswal had also notched his double century during the second Test match in Visakhapatnam.

 

Although he had to retire hurt due to back spasms after reaching his century on Day 3, Jaiswal returned to bat on Day 4 after Shubman Gill's dismissal on 91 in the third Test. Starting from 104, Jaiswal continued his outstanding performance. He formed a century partnership with Sarfaraz Khan and eventually reached another remarkable double century.

7th Indian batter with 3 tons in the shortest Test innings

Yashasvi Jaiswal's double century makes him the seventh Indian batter to score three tons in the shortest Test innings, accomplishing this milestone in only 13 Test innings with an impressive average of 62.25. This achievement puts him in the company of legends like Virender Sehwag and Sanjay Manjrekar, who also achieved three centuries in the same number of innings.

It's worth noting that former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin holds the record for the fastest to score three centuries, achieving this feat in just the first four innings.
