Shubman Gill-James Anderson spat: After Indian batter refuses to reveal conversation, England pacer spills the beans, says 'I said...'

In the fifth and final Test match between India and England in Dharamsala, Indian batter Shubman Gill and English fast bowler James Anderson were involved in a brief banter that caught the attention of the onlookers. After the match, Gill was asked about what was the conversation he had with Anderson on the field and the Indian batter refused the reveal the chat, saying that it's better to keep it 'private'. Meanwhile, Anderson has now revealed the complete banter between him and Gill.

Anderson revealed that he quizzed Gill whether he scores any runs outside of India to which the Indian batter cheekily replied that it's time for the England pacer to retire

"I said something to him like 'Do you get any runs outside India?' and he said 'It's time to retire'," Anderson said on the Tailenders podcast

"Then two balls later, I got him out," he added.

Shubman Gill finds form

Just when the pressure was mounting on Gill after he had failed to score runs in several opportunities with the bat, the young right-handed batter silenced all his critics and played a pivotal role in India's 4-1 series win over the Three Lions.

Gill scored two centuries and as many half-centuries in the series, accumulating 452 runs in nine innings he batted against England in the series.

James Anderson scales 700 wickets mountain

For James Anderson, it was an average tour from his lofty standards. The right-arm legendary pacer could bag only nine wickets but he did manage to create a monumental history. Anderson became the first fast bowler ever to complete 700 wickets in Test cricket.

Overall, Anderson is currently the third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket history. Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Shane Warne (708) are the only two players ahead of Anderson in leading wicket-takers list in international red-ball cricket.
