India captain Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh has reacted emotionally on his Test retirement social media post. Rohit announced his retirement from the longest format of the game ahead of the upcoming red-ball England tour. India's Champions Trophy 2025 winning captain took his Instagram to announce his retirement. Rohit thanked fans for their support and mentioned that it was an honour to play the longest format for the country.

Rohit's sudden retirement shocked the cricketing fraternity and people started wishing him on his excellent career in whites. Rohit's wife Ritka also reacted to his retirement as she reposted his Instagram story with a heartbroken and saluting emoji.

Rohit captained India in 24 Test matches, winning 12 and losing nine matches, while three matches ended in a draw. He is the only India's second captain to draw a Test series in South Africa after MS Dhoni.

Rohit made his Test debut against West Indies in 2013 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata and began his career with centuries in the first two matches. He finishes as India's 16th-highest run-getter in the longest format of the game.  Rohit Sharma-led India featured in the World Test Championship (WTC) final in England, where Australia defeated the Men in Blue to win the title. Rohit's last Test assignment was the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia, where he led the side in three Test matches out of five and India lost 3-1. India's next Test assignment will be the upcoming five-Test match series in England, which is scheduled to start from June 20, 2025.
