England’s 40-year-old pacer James Anderson has become the no.1 Test bowler dethroning Australian skipper Pat Cummins. With seven wickets in England's historic 267-run win over New Zealand, Anderson jumped two places to reach the summit. The veteran pacer also broke an 87-year-old record by becoming the oldest bowler to attain no.1 Test bowler ranking since Australia's Clarrie Grimmett in 1936. Anderson now has 866 rating points. The last time he claimed the top spot was in 2018.

Along with Anderson, India's in-form off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin climbed one spot as well. Ashwin is now second-ranked Test bowler with 864 rating points. The 36-year-old took three wickets in each inning against Australia in India’s six-wicket win in the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

On the other hand, Cummins managed to take just one wicket in the Test. The skipper decided not to bowl in the second innings. Currently, he is in the third spot with 858 rating points.

Ahead of the third Test Cummins flew back home for an emergency meeting. He will be back for the third Test at Holkar Stadium, Indore.

After taking 10 wickets including career-best seven-fer, Ravindra Jadeja stormed into top 10. Jadeja jumped six places to grab the ninth spot. As a result, an injured Mitchell Starc slipped to no.10.

Axar Patel's stock saw rise as well. With another half-century in the series to rescue India from batting collapse, Patel is now fifth-ranked Test all-rounder.

There were no changes in the top 10 batting rankings led by Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne. While Test cricket action has kept fans busy, there were major changes in T20I rankings as well.
