In the second women's T20I against England, India had a dismal batting performance, managing only 80 runs before being dismissed. Amidst the WPL auction where uncapped players secured lucrative deals, prominent Indian batters like Shafali Verma (0), Smriti Mandhana (10), skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (9), and Deepti Sharma (0) struggled with poor shot selection. England's bowlers capitalized on India's woes, choosing to bowl first and bundling them out in just 16.2 overs.

Jemimah Rodrigues emerged as the lone bright spot in India's batting lineup, scoring 30 off 33 balls. Batting at No 3, she showcased fine form with consecutive boundaries but eventually fell victim to Sarah Glenn's LBW delivery. The rest of the Indian batters failed to make a significant contribution, resulting in an unusual and disappointing display.

England's bowling was clinical, with all six bowlers taking at least one wicket. Charlie Dean (4-0-16-2), Lauren Bell (3-0-18-2), Sophie Ecclestone (3.2-0-13-2), and Sarah Glenn (3-1-13-2) all grabbed two wickets each. Ecclestone, who took a remarkable left-handed return catch to dismiss Richa Ghosh (4), delivered the final blow by breaching Saika Ishaque's defence to conclude the Indian innings.

This total of 80 runs set by India was their third-lowest target against England. The match showcased England's bowling dominance and India's struggle to build a substantial innings.

Renuka Singh, taking two wickets for 26 runs, made an impact as England struggled at 19 for 2 in 3 overs while defending the total. However, Alice Capsey (25) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (16) helped England stay competitive. Spinner Deepti Sharma dismissed Amy Jones (5) and Freya Kemp (0) in consecutive deliveries, but it came too late. Besides Renuka, Deepti (2/4), Saika Ishaque (1/21), and Pooja Vastrakar (1/7) also took wickets for India.
